My name is Grant McHaney and I hope to be your new CrossFit Coach. I could talk about the many different certifications and skills I have obtained in my coaching career. I could tell you about the various personal records in workouts or lifts over the years. I could try and convince you to let me be your coach by backing up my credentials with my military experience in Air Force Special Operations. What I would rather have you know about your possible future CrossFit Coach is that I genuinely love CrossFit. I enjoy doing CrossFit, I enjoy learning new techniques and skills. I enjoy the challenge of CrossFit. I also genuinely enjoy helping people. I enjoy that, “ah ha” moment in someone’s expression when they understand what I am teaching them. I enjoy hearing stories from clients on how they achieved something they never thought was possible. I love helping people learn what their capabilities are through CrossFit. I started swimming competitively at the age of 5, and swam and coached swimming all the way through college at UC Davis in California. While in college I found myself burned out from swimming, and stayed away from it and the gym for a while. A few years after I graduated, I found CrossFit and immediately loved it. It gave me that spark to enjoy working out again; the coaching, the classes, learning new movements and competing against myself was the perfect recipe for me to love working out again . Since then I've moved across the country from San Francisco to Philly, I got my Crossfit Level 1 in 2019 and I love working with all the wonderful people at CFRH.

Hi, I'm Coach Jamie! Besides guiding some of the wonderful groups of classes at the Rit, I am also a full time Montessori teacher (primary age classroom - 3 to 6 year olds). When I'm not teaching adults basic fitness or little ones their letters and numbers, I enjoy spending time with my two dogs and watching a little bit too much of reality tv (Love After Lock Up is fire). I continue to coach because I'm passionate about supporting anyone and everyone's journey to a lifetime of basic health and fitness. I also love creating a good warm up game or two!

Once a teacher, then a full-time yoga teacher, and now a soon-to-be registered dietitian, I know that being busy can sometimes mess with your nutrition. My role at CFRH is to help you sustain healthy habits without stress! I graduated with my Masters in Human Nutrition at Drexel University, researched the role of micronutrients in athlete populations, and matched to a dietetic internship at Tulane University. My favorite part of nutrition coaching is being my clients’ cheerleader and seeing them reach goals they once thought were impossible. When I’m not working with clients, I love practicing yoga, cuddling my dogs, and creating new recipes.
